Laughter & More Laughter

I had a very blessed Sunday. Relatives from EEUU, Iligan & Bukidnon came together in unity after miles and time of being apart. Highlights? Laughter and more laughter especially when the old folks grouped together and talked about their humble beginnings. I've realized how difficult times were when they were young. I'm happy that through those difficult times we were able to surpass what they had experienced before. Another realization was the fact that they don't want it to become a cycle. They wanted to live our lives to the fullest without thinking of what to wear or eat the next day. I'm so blessed to be part of the family. I'm looking forward of meeting mom's cousin's children soon. ☺

Mom's Birthday Cake

Last May 20, we had an extraordinary celebration with my siblings for my mom's birthday. I really had a hard time what to give her. I was thinking to buy a pair of flip flops for her but unfortunately the color I was looking for wasn't available at that time. So I bought her a cake. Chocolate Marjolain by Red Ribbon. Love it so much. This will be my cake of the year. It is like a thousand Pastel by VJANDEP. The taste is matchless. Well, I still have to try something new next time. I'm sure Red Ribbon's going to surprise me. ☺

Look At My Scar!

"Look at my scar Kuya! It's almost gone now." Shot taken at home while my little brother exhibits his bicycle stunts. He got that wound after jumping from our apartment's fence. He fainted when he hit the ground and our tenants thought that he might badly hit his head. Luckily, there were no rocks on the ground. A mimosa weed did that to him. ☺

The Rickety Stash: The Young Puerita

This is a Post-World War II photo taken when my grandmother, Puerita (sitting, far right) was on her 6th grade way back 1947. She and her classmates are wearing the traditional Filipino costume for the Catalana, a Hispano-Filipino inspired folk dance. The costumes, along with the men's Barong Tagalog (I want to buy one for myself), are made of split-pineapple fibers called piña. Guess what? She can still remember the names of her classmates in that photo and with the grace of God they are still living with their families at a nearby barrio. According to her, the English language was very foreign during that time. Spanish and Cebuano were spoken in homes and Tagalog was gaining popularity in the newspapers (from Manila) and radio.☺

Loma-Borja Nuptial

This is the best wedding I attended in my entire life. Best wishes to the newly-wed my cousin Apple & the new member of the family, Aldrin! I can't believe it, we used to play around with the rest of our cousins back in the good old days and now she's Mrs. Loma! Te I'm so proud of you finally you've found him. Talking about the wedding, everything was prepared ahead of time from the ceremony to the reception no eyebrows were raised. The innovations of multimedia in the event really caught my attention. I'm surprised we can get anything right away. We got instant coffee, instant noodles and now, instant audiovisual presentation in high definition. It was like a TV network production. Thanks to Wolfram Virtualworks for the creativity! Every lady in the hall wants to get married instantly with that very bewitching presentation.

Not only that, the photos are sensational. These photos were taken by jivajimenez. I don't know the rest of the photographers there were dozens of them in the event.
